Many of my more theory-based, symbolic works are created alongside accompanying essays, written in order to give the viewer a brief insight into the theoretical background of the themes being explored, and the symbolic imagery I have used to explore them with.

Rather than provide a rigidly accurate visual summary of another thinker's theory, both the artwork and the essays are intended more as a personal form of questioning and investigation into the philosophical and psychological themes involved, and the ways in which they can become uniquely suggestive when interpreted symbolically: As with any symbolic artwork, the resulting compositions seem to end up as more of a psychological metaphor for my own internal, weird world than anything else…

Here you will find a collection of some of these essays, presented alongside the artworks to which they refer for reference.
